Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • Fresh fruit (strawberries, peaches, or berries for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • In a bowl, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream.
  • Poke holes all over the cooled cake with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Top the soaked cake with whipped cream and garnish with fresh fruit before serving.
